What is the concept of "Channel" in MAILCast?
A MAILCast channel determines who the subscribers in that channel are and, in general, what is the purpose of the communications delivered to them.
There are three different kinds of channels in MAILCast:
- MAILCast-managed channels: These are automatically managed by MAILCast. They can handle the automated opt-ins and opt-outs from your website and it is especially useful for your newsletters.
- Access & Excel channels: They allow you to upload an Access database or Excel spreadsheet on-demand. You can then filter, personalize and send your communications according to the data contained in that file. These are particularly fit for sending email marketing campaigns and notifications, getting your recipients data from external sources.
- External channels: These are channels linked directly to your corporate database, CRM software, Human Resources data, etc. This kind of channel needs our consulting services and are only available for customers with high volume of emails. You can use the information right where it is directly from MAILCast.
"Channel" it's a powerful concept, and it's an exclusive feature of MAILCast that will help you to tame your communications' enthropy. You can have as many channels as you need.
From what address will the subscribesr receive my newsletters?
MAILcast will send emails impersonating the e-mail account (personal or department's) that you wish, i.e. info@yourcompany.com.
To do so, you will not need to provide us with your password, neither change your email system’s configuration.
MAILCast adds the necessary information to outgoing e-mails in order for anti-spam filters recognizing the legimate source of the mailing.
How do I manage my subscribers?
When using a MAILCast-managed channel It automatically will manage your opt-outs and opt-ins from your Website (including double opt-in, you can control this behaviour). You can also subscribe or delete subscribers manually from your administration menu or bulk-upload them in CSV format. Furthermore, MAILCast identifies the bounced-back emails to help you updating your contacts.
If an Access & Excel channel is used you can upload your subscribers data to personalize, filter and send communications based on that information.
How complex would be implementing MAILcast in a big organization?
Being a web-based system with no installation needed in the users' PCs, it makes the implementation of MAILCast quick and easy, even having environments based in different locations, or having external contributors.
Somehow a successful implementation in a big organization could require a profound study of your communications needs. This analysis could be done by us, an external consulting company, or by your own Communication or HR department. It's not a technology issue, but a organizational one. However MAILCast helps in the implementation of the strategy, bringing organizational facilities in form of security roles and permissions that help control what everyone must do in every channel, and so on.
MAILCast offers a flexible security system to specify different permissions for each department, or work teams. This makes MAILCast a valuable collaborative tool to distribute work within your personnel. In addition, MAILCast can limit monthly email quotes for the different channels of communication, so no department could abuse this mailing service.

MAILCast's architecture allows easy integration with your internal CRM systems, customer databases, business planning, etc. It is also possible to use databases, LDAP Directories, web services, spreadsheets, email systems and, if needed, text files as sources for your delivery data.
